Your writing voice is the deepest possible reflection of who you are. The job of your voice is not to seduce or flatter or make well-shaped sentences. In your voice, your readers should be able to hear the contents of your mind, your heart, your soul. ~ Meg Rosoff
Gorgeous, captivating photograph. And an awesome quote. It’s just what I needed to hear today!
Glad to hear it, Catherine! I love that quote! Such a great explanation of voice as well as a strong reminder to write our truth.
Ahh! Great timing for me as well: work on website today included deep discussion around personal copy. My web tech isn’t a writer, simply can’t grasp my insistence on a precise word here, removal of another there. It’s about authentic voice, from the first time someone lands on the site through every interaction. Who we are, on the page or screen, should reflect what’s deep within.
(AND so happy to have heard from you about the Anthology!)
So true, Kristine. And we’re excited to share your work–a beautiful piece!
