    (Billy’s my main man. I’m old enough to have liked him before he hit it big, and I interviewed him during his “River of Dreams” tour.)

      You know, this story was based in part on a real-life experience with a piano tuner who broke out into song after he tuned up the Wurlitzer in my house–what a fun surprise. I still laugh when I think about it. So, when I wrote this story I think I had “Only the Good Die Young” in mind. Maybe not a typical song that a character like Melvin would bust out, but then that was what made him such a fun character to write about.
